i just finish the story and it's great, funny minigames and sidequests, the combat is also satisfying as hell(4 characters, 4 different fighting styles). Highly recommended 10/10

Kinda like with Yakuza 4 before it I really wish I could give Yakuza 5 a middle thumbs up. Performance wise it's the same as the 3-5 Remastered set, which is to say very mediocre. 60fps lock with the same repetitive combat as 3 and 4, though here it's slightly improved.

The story won't be for everyone, as much like 4 before it, this game is extremely convoluted, and the disparity in quality between the stories is massive. Shinada's is great, Saejima's is not. Both Kiryu and Haruka sections were fine, but not particularly memorable.

Yakuza 5 is definitely a skip unless you're a dedicated Yakuza fan. It's bloated, often a drag, and takes far too long to find its pace. Overall a 6.5/10

By far the worst yakuza game

Nonsensical story which cares more about twists and leaving the player confused rather than saying anything. Terrible combat which has enemies grab you constantly constantly halting the flow of combat, The enemies also attack you consistently so have fun beating down the same 3-5 guys every 2 minutes while you try to progress the game. Worst of all is the pacing which is so bad it makes playing this game a slog. Unless you wanna play every yakuza game, i recommend skipping this.

I honestly got tired of playing Yakuza 5 to the point where I took a year-long break once I got to Haruka's part. However, I decided to finish the game recently and I can now say that I enjoyed it... so much more.

can't recommend this, would be good if it didnt trick everyone into thinking its a yakuza game when maybe 50% of it is actually a yakuza game. its taken me months and i still havent finished this game because its such a slog
