To me, it is a very solid Rogue Lite sidescroller. It controls pretty fluidly with especially the bosses often going for a bit of a "bullet hell" feel, a decent overall balance of difficulty and some sufficiently interesting choices for the abilities you can get, including the "upgrade system" for them, manipulating both the chances to drop and the power of the effect of the ones you get from enemies you fight.

The story is a bit of a wild mix drawing from Lovecraft to, of course, plenty of biblical / Kabbala references, with a lot of "quirky character humor", while still managing to maintain enough serious vibe not to detract from the story, I think.

I think it is a shame the game had a rough start with the initial incomplete English translation, but if you select "fan translation", it now plays pretty much perfectly and I would really recomend it to anyone who likes the genre.
