Hey hatchlings!
The time has come to finally discuss transferring your legacy dragons from one of the Official Servers to either Official US 4 (PVE) or Official UK 8 (PVE).
Here's how it will work:
If you wish to transfer your dragons from one server to another, you will need to fill out the Transfer Request Form below . Therefore, you will need to fill out one form per steam account per save per server (therefore you can technically fill out the form twice per steam account -> can move a file to US 4 and another file to UK 8.
----> THEREFORE, you can only transfer 2 saves (max 2) one for US and one for UK legacies.
That being said, if you have any saves on UK8/US4 and decide to transfer from another server, they will be overwritten!
For Example : let's say you wish to move your dragons from Official Server US-1 to US-4; all your dragons from US-1 will be moved to US-4! Additionally, any dragons you previously had on US-4 will be overwritten by your new US-1 save file!
You also will not be able to choose if each of your dragons will be moved to a different server. ALL your dragons will move to the server you pick.
✨ Next comes the more complicated part...
Once you fill out the form, you will need to inform an Official Server Admin AFTER February 1st 2024 either by using the #ping-an-admin channel in the official discord OR our Official Report Link posted below (if you don't have discord) when you are online to confirm that you do indeed wish to transfer your dragon from one server to another (there will be no changing your mind once the transfer is complete!). We will ask you to log onto US 4 or UK 8 to confirm your transfer. We expect this to take some time, so please be patient with our team!
Once you have filled out the form and have confirmed that you are indeed you, we will transfer your dragons in waves just right before 1.0 is released.
Lastly, I'd like to mention that progress on all servers will be saved until February 1st, 2024 and then archived. Afterwards, progress will only be saved on the new Legacy US (4) and UK (8) servers and all other servers will be offline permanently.
Thais all for now folks! If you have any additional questions regarding server transfers, please feel free to ask them in the #server-transfer-questions channel in the official discord.

On February 1st there will be an update to Day of Dragons Beta (built in UE4) which is now to be known as: Day of Dragons: Legacy
The update will unlock all exclusive content such as the Acid Spitter Drake, Leucistic Skin, Leumelan Skin, Crimson Skin, Gold Skin, Shimmer Effect, and Jellyflies to all players for Day of Dragons: Legacy which will remain on Steam under the Legacy branch for players who wish to play it.
All Store/Kickstarter/Patreon DLC's, skins, and cosmetics will still apply to Day of Dragons v1.0+ (built in UE5).
DoD Legacy will continue to remain in it's current state for the foreseeable future. Our current team is focused on DoD v1.0 and beyond, but if DoD Legacy remains popular, it is possible that we may bring some of the new dragons and emotes to Legacy if time and budget permits.
1.0 Official Server FAQ
Q) What happened to the old Legacy servers with the numbers?
A) There will only be two Legacy servers beginning February 1st, Legacy US and Legacy UK. Please see the Server Transfers Post for more details on how to transfer your current saves over.
Q) Will my current Legacy progress be transferred to the new 1.0 servers?
A) No, everyone will start fresh. If you want your Official Legacy progress saved, please see the question above.
Q) Why are servers named now instead of using numbers like US #1, US #4?
A) Mainly because if we have to take a server down, then we have 1, 2, 4, 5 remaining and it bothers my OCD, plus names are cooler.
Q) Why are there not any non-English Official servers in other popular languages?
A) Because we need Admins who can speak other languages to properly admin official non-English servers and we simply don't have enough non-English staff to do it.
Q) Why are there not more EU/AU servers?
A) Because we need more local EU/AU staff to Administrate them.
Q) Are you looking for more Official Server Admins?
A) Always, please fill out our admin application form if you are interested in joining our Volunteer Staff team. This form can be found in the announcements section of our official discord. You must be a part of our official discord to join our team!
Q) Will you be adding more servers?
A) If needed, we do plan to add more servers when the Fantasy mode/map comes out, or we may merge some existing servers and then use some unpopulated servers for the new Fantasy mode/map when it releases, just depends on player count and how many admins we have available to staff the servers. There is also the option for players to play on private community servers.
Q) Where will the new servers be located exactly?
A) US servers are located in Virginia/Texas, UK in London, and AU in Sydney.
Q) What does PvP, PvE, DvE, CvC mean?
A) Player vs Player, Player vs Environment, Dragon vs Elemental, Clan vs Clan.
Thank you for helping us hit 200 players on the test server, the stress test was a success!
Our High Performance Server handled 200 players with only a 60% CPU Load. This means that good servers should have no issues running 100 player survival mode, and high performance servers should easily handle 200 players in fantasy mode.
Clients began experiencing FPS loss after 60 players within render distance. The game was still playable (30 FPS+) for all players with 100 players in render distance. At 200 moving/call spamming players in render distance, about 15% of clients began crashing due to CPU lockups, but the server held strong.
For Server Hosts
Our Server Host Hardware recommendation is:
Greybox Deathmatch @ 60 Players or Less: 2.8 GHz or faster CPU with two threads and 4GB RAM
Forest Survival @ 60 Players or Less: 3.0 GHz or faster CPU with two threads and 8GB RAM
Forest Survival @ 100 Players or Less: 3.2 GHz or faster CPU with two threads allocated and 8GB RAM
Forest Survival @ 200 Players or Less: 3.5 GHz or faster CPU with two threads allocated and 8GB RAM
Please be sure that servers are allocated at least 2 threads, as DoD Server uses multi-threading and many tasks are ran on the worker thread. Allocating more than 2 threads will not benefit your server performance wise, but with only 1 thread, your server will take a big hit.
The above recommendations are based on testing data and may not be applicable to your specific hardware or your hosting hardware. User hardware requirements may vary.
With just 3 weeks until Official Release, we have updated our Official Server List and added more AU/UK servers. We have also added servers in Europe.
An important note regarding EU servers:
Currently, we have required all players on Officials to use English when chatting in Global as all of our Admins speak English, but the new EU servers will allow any European language to be used in global chat. Because of this, they will not be actively monitored by an admin. Players on EU servers in need of assistance will need to fill out a report and if the report is not in English, wait for an admin that speaks that player's language (if we have one who can) to be available to assist. US/UK/AU servers still require English to be used in Global chat.

Just a reminder that US-1, US-2, US-3, UK-5, & AU-7 will all be going offline permanently tomorrow at Noon EST.
We will archive all saves for those who wish to do a server transfer to Legacy US (US-4) or Legacy UK (UK-8). Instructions regarding server transfers may be found in previous posts.
From February 1 - February 16, there will be no Official Servers for Day of Dragons Legacy Beta on the default Steam branch. The only Official servers for Day of Dragons Legacy Beta during that time will be on the Steam Legacy branch and both of those Legacy servers are online there now.
On February 17th, we'll be launching with many new servers as posted above.
It's been great Legacy Beta, but it's time for us to move on to greater things on February 17th.
We will be posting an announcement regarding our Soft Release Roadmap of Update 1.0 tomorrow after we take the servers down so be watching for that.
Server hosts, be sure to check the support-docs channel in the official discord for the latest configs for Update 1.0.
Thank you all!

Thank you to all those who joined us for our Legacy Beta. We have many great things ahead of us and cannot wait to show you what we have in store!
Earlier this year, we posted an announcement stating the 1.0 update may be delayed due to unavoidable health issues this year. WIthin the entire development team, there has been multiple health related incidents that could not be avoided. It wasn't a great year for us health wise and we had to spend a lot of time recovering.
Because of these delays, we aren't able to confidently fit everything we wanted into the 1.0 update. Life happens unfortunately, and with each passing day, this appeared more inevitable. We want to deliver 1.0 in the quality our community deserves and not deliver a rushed, buggy product. You, our community members, are awesome and you deserve the update to be just as amazing.
However...
1.0 will still be released on February 17th as promised!
But, it will be a soft release, meaning that it will be released over several updates. The first update will be 1.0.0 and will still be our largest update to date! We will be introducing two new dragons into the game. These two will be the free starter dragon, the Inferno Ravager, and the Kickstarter dragon, the Biolumin (available to all through nesting). We will also be adding our new and improved Forgotten Forest map which has been completely remastered with new locations and landmarks to explore.
After this initial update, we will be releasing the rest of the content intended for 1.0 in two to four week intervals.
We greatly apologize for the delay. We know some of you will be upset with this decision. Please believe us when we say we didn't want to, but it is what is best for the health of the game and developers.
Thank you all for being awesome and see you in 1.0
Q: Why the soft release?
A: We don't want to delay the 1.0 update, however not all content is ready for release. We want to deliver quality content in a playable and bug free state that doesn't take away from the experience of the player. We don't want to rush and you guys deserve the best.
Q: Can't you include the skin crafting in the 1.0.0 or move it to a higher update?
A: Yes and no. If we moved it to a sooner update, we wouldn't have enough time to properly test it and put as much polish into it as needed. A lot of our community is really excited for this and we want to make sure it meets your expectations.
Q: What about the Sandslayer Worms and other bosses?
A: Pookie, in all her glory, will come in a future update along with the Fantasy Mode and the Fantasy maps. After all, can't really have Sandslayer Worms without... well... sand.
Here are the Official Server Configs for each Official Server type along with gametype descriptions.
PvE Servers
These servers are like our current PvE Servers. There is only consensual (flagged) PvP. There is no faction play. It is Player vs Environment. Clan size is 1000 members, Group size unlimited.
RP-PvE Servers
These are PvE servers with Roleplay enabled. At 1.0 launch, players will be able to give their dragon a unique name upon hatching that overrides your Steam name. Admins can still see your steam name. These servers are for the roleplayers out there who want to immerse themselves into the world of Dragons. Other roleplay features such as chat bubbles are planned for the future. Settings are the same as PvE but nametags are always on for all players.
DvE Servers
These are PvE servers with a twist. Faction play is enabled. This means players will have the ability to unlock and play as the Elemental faction. Elementals cannot clan and they cannot group with Dragons, but they can group with other Elementals. They also cannot understand dragons and dragons cannot understand them in chat. Elementals grow more powerful with each dragon they consume. Later on in development, Elementals will be able to combine into Tregon, the Elemental Hydra once they are strong enough. Faction play will be arriving in 1.0.4, so joining a DvE server will be like a PvE server until 1.0.4. Server settings are the same as PvE but with Faction play enabled.
We added a Clanless Solo PvP Config for Dragonborne. Due to having a solo PvP server, other PvP servers have had their clan limits returned to max. Thank you for the feedback! We listen! Enjoy.

PvP Servers
This is PvP the way it was meant to be played. Firstly, we have enabled Group damage, so watch where you bite and shoot. To ensure more competitive play, we have enabled Ping detection on all PvP servers, so players must not be over 300ms ping or will be kicked by the server. (Normal ping is ~40 if you play within your region and ~120 if playing on a US server from the UK, and ~240ms if playing from Australia. So 300ms is gracious and promotes a better pvp experience. If you have high ping, then we recommend playing on a server closer to your location.) We've also disabled clan tags showing in chat so that it can no longer be used to ID a player's clan by hostile clans. Group size limit is 10. Clan member size limit is 200 (like on Legacy).
PvP Server (Dragonborne)
We have heard you solo players! Dragonborne will be configured for the hardcore solo PvPers of DoD. Clans are Disabled. Ping Detection is Enabled @ 300ms. Group Damage Disabled. Group size limit is 10.
CvC Servers
Clan vs Clan is PvP but designed for big clans. In CvC, only Clanned members can engage in PvP with other dragons. Those who are not in a clan are considered neutral and cannot PvP with dragons. Neutral players have red glowing eyes, and have permanent magenta nametags so they can be identified. Being in a clan enables PvP with other dragons. Faction play is always enabled (Dragon vs Elemental so even unclanned players can still be killed in Faction play). Leaving a clan does not unflag you until you safelog to prevent exploiting the system. Neutral players also cannot nest, only clan members can nest. This allows unclanned players to spawn into the game unharassed until they are ready to join a clan.
We've heard you loud and clear. Instead of making each server the same (easy for us to maintain) we are configuring PvP servers in 4 different ways as follows:
OFFICIAL SERVER CONFIGS:
Solo Hardcore PvP
Small Clan PvP
Mega Clan PvP
Mega Clan Hardcore PvP
BELOW ARE THE OFFICIAL PVP SERVERS GROUPED ACCORDING TO THEIR ABOVE CONFIGURATIONS:
Solo Hardcore
[Official US] Dragonborne
Small Clan
[Official US] Molten Mountain
[Official UK] Glacier Peak
[Official AU] Burning Sands
Mega Clan
[Official US] Blood Moon
[Official EU] Shadow Veil
Mega Clan Hardcore
[Official US] Dragonking
[Official UK] Frozen Throne
We can't make everyone happy, but we try to listen to our players. We hope that you will all find an Official or Community server in DoD that you can call home. Thank you for your feedback.

If you pre-purchased a Blitz Striker DLC, Emote Pack DLC, those are being sent out today, the first day of the Year of the Dragon!
Flame Stalker, Shadow Scale, and Inferno Ravager Emote Packs are not bugged.
We are waiting on Steam to approve the emote packs for Steam Store, once they are approved, they will just work. The game doesn't know you have the DLC's until Steam releases them.
We are also working on a hotfix for the Flame Stalker, Shadow Scale, and Biolumin skin bugs as well as the Inferno's night vision.
We are also aware of food issues, we will be adding more food to the map in the 1.0.1 patch that includes the Blitz Striker and new Weather system.
Thank you.
