Alan Wake its not a lake of resident evil like as many think, its an ocean of a well written breathtaking story, with nice plots and characters. The gameplay is unique and charming, its fell so relaxing use the flashlight and shoot the enemies. Overall its a very great and unique game, and with its sequel and DLC's Alan Wake turns to a fantastic and cool story to see and play.

Replayed this before going into the sequel. Still a good must-play classic.

I see some reviews calling this repetitive and I don't feel that way at all. Sure there is a set combat mechanic and there are only a few weapons.
However the pacing is made so that the game alternates between different feel to the gameplay at seemingly just the right moments. There are peaceful daytime moments, there are scary stressful "get chased by infinitely respawning enemies" moments, there are more straightforward less stressful solo combat moments, there are "fight things alongside other NPCs moments".
The combat is mechanically the same throughout but the context of it feels much different. To compare it to other Remedy titles, I feel like Control is much worsely paced and feels way more repetitive as a result even if the combat in that game provides some more options.

Graphics-wise the game has aged very well and still looks amazing, with the exception of the faces (which were ♥♥♥♥♥♥ even by 2010 standards)

Plot is fine, pretty much David Lynch/Stephen King vibes. It is not very subtle and a lot of things get explained by the end (though obviously not everything)
