Game constantly freezing / hard locking my PC
I've already turned my graphics settings down to below medium, but the game just continues to hard lock my PC, where I can't even use the task manager anymore, literally have to hold the power button down to force shut my PC off.

Honestly no clue why this keeps happening. My hardware is not even being fully utilized, so I'm not running too hot or out of RAM or VRAM or anything.

I disabled Steam overlay for this game, and set it to run as admin. So far it runs.

Pro tip in task manager go to options at the top and select "always on top". This makes it so that you always get task manager

It's a memory issue. Happens when the game runs out of ram.

Clearly not.

Well, I've had the issue, and resolved it by closing my browser before running the game.
This just started happening to me too. I've never had the issue before.

Right click the game in your library, then properties, then disable the Steam overlay. Report back if it worked.

Seems to have done the trick with some limited testing. Thanks for the help!
Happened twice to me now, the game uses up all 24gb vram on my 4090. and it locks up my PC. have to force shut down each time.

Hopefully this gets fixed, as in no way a game like this should hog up 24gb of vram!

Just had another lock as well, which is very strange, because I've been playing for like 10 hours now without any issues after the fixes I applied..

There have to be several causes for this issues going on here. But disabling Steam overlay definitely reduced the issue drastically for me.

I am having this issue a lot (3080ti)

At first, I tried running in admin mode and disabling overlay and that made things 1000x worse. It was unplayable.

Took away Run as admin and left steam overlay off, haven't had the problem again (yet) I'm expecting I will but it's the most stable now that it has been since I started playing.

Will give that a try, thanks for your input. It all seems so random.

It is. It was fine for a couple of long play sessions and then decided to freak out again, Now it's back to the lag. Can't even call task manager.

Same here. Pc freeze after a couple hours playtime, and needs to be hard reset. Tried different settings ect. Had monitoring on 2nd monitor last freeze and everything looked good, temps ect.

Anyone know what's going on?
