Re-downloading Workshop Mods [POSSIBLE FIX]

If you or your computer screwed up, and steam is now re-downloading the plethora of mods you had installed, then this discussion is for you!

*NOTE* IF YOU HAVE COMPLETELY DELETED THE MODS FROM THE COMPUTER THIS WILL NOT HELP YOU

Backup the file(s) we work with before editing, you have been warned

A little more detail on the problem we'll be dealing with. Your computer BSOD'd or you did something wrong, causing the app-manifest for Arma (Or any steam game) to become corrupt and think you haven't downloaded anything from the workshop even though you have the files.

Before we start, close steam.

Locate your steam install with the workshop files downloaded.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop"
by default.
Find the file "appworkshop_107410.acf" and open it with a text editor.
This is Arma's app manifest for workshop items.
In this file, you will see something similar to the screenshot below, with length varying on how many mods you have installed.

Installed mods are under "WorkshopItemsInstalled",
and all workshop items subscribed under "WorkshopItemDetails".
You will want to delete everything under "WorkshopItemsInstalled", except for the 2 braces so it looks like this. Screenshot[puu.sh].
You will then want to copy everything under "WorkshopItemDetails", and paste them in place of everything you just deleted.
Save the file, and if everything was done correctly, you can start up steam without having to re-download every workshop item.

*Reminder to backup the file before saving

My formatting is atrocious, but I don't usually post, came across this solution by chance, and thought it might help someone.

Thanks, this saved me from redownloading 34GB+ of compressed workshop content.

The only issue now is Steam is reporting a Depot Configuration Error for Arma 3.

Using Notepad++ is among the best programs for this sort of thing.

Notepad++ is amazing for pretty ugh anything. I use it for modding a whole variety of games, Arma included.

This did not work for me, however I found a "fix" thanks to you.

In the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\Content" I found the mod folder, changed the name to "@RHS_whatever" and changed it to the ARMA 3 root folder. Then loaded them as local mods. They wont get updated this way but atleast I wont have to download 100 gb worth of mods on a 200 gb restriction per month internet :)

^ Good luck playing online, the first time I followed this tutorial it didn't work, it still tried to download. I restarted and tried again and sure enough it worked.

I didn't cover everything I could, as it was intended more for a quick guide. I may or may not polish it up, update a few things and use answers from here at a later date :)
