Technically multithreading was already here, but this adds more.

Are you using the dev branch, if so, are you noticed a meaningful improvement in fps?

Yup. FPS and overall smoothness feels much greater. I wish I had done benchmarks before, but I've played enough that I kinda have a feel for what will do what and when. Vehicles being spawned in used to tank FPS, but I ran an urban armored fight, 8v8, and things went very well. FPS stuck around the 60+ mark.

I'm on a 4090 and 5800X3D. 4k, high/ultra settings. 3000m draw distance.

Definitely recommend giving it a shot.
Is it something thats gonna go live at some point?

Vs the AI? I can never seem to find any cool MP servers that has that, all I find is Warlords or KOTH.

That's hard to answer, it depends on how the testing goes. There are stability issues from what I've read.

Yes. I have over 2k hours in this game and I'd say around 97% of that time has been solely playing in Zeus, ever since 2015.

So naturally, I tested everything in Zeus. I just ran another test earlier today on Cam Lao Nam with VCOM and Vanilla AI. FPS did drop, naturally, because I had a good 200 AI going at it all at once in close proximity, and at *some* points performance did feel very similar to current build, but occasionally for some reason that is truly beyond me my FPS would jump to a good 80 or so before coming back down to around 30-40.

With VCOM AI on, my FPS dropped down into the higher 20's but I expected as much. It was a lot of AI with an old and outdated mod that hasn't been touched since 2020 and it was not exactly a lightweight AI mod anyway.

Soonishly I'll probably jump on and test out Lambs with CF_BAI or something. Maybe even ASR_AI which still functions.

Edit: 1876 hours in Arma 3. I was thinking of HOI IV. My mistake.

So you're playing Zeus solo? Any good missions you can recommend? I take it it's like an RTS game at that point?

Yup. Always have. No missions. I just make it up as I go along. Engineer little stories in my head and off I go.

Lol. It's basically army men from when I was little but *much* easier to clean up. I just hit Alt+F4.

And no, not really like an RTS. I make stuff to where I can jump in and control whoever I want and see how long I can make that guy survive or whatever.

After almost 2k hours it does get a little boring sometimes. Maps start feeling small and there's not too many more stories to tell. Just replayed The East Wind last week. Beat Apex for the first time by myself as well. They're really excellent, if you haven't played them.

Thinking of figuring out how to configure ALiVE next. They have singleplayer saving, and having a whole map proper campaign on Altis would be fun.
I've finished all the official campaigns. Been doing some Antistasi but been craving some tank on tank combat for a good while. Also seems to be a shortage of fighter jet servers, unfortunately.

warlords becomes tank on tank when both teams are good.

there are great scenarios from the tank dlc, you should check em out, they are fun
Apologies for the possibly silly question - does this mean devbranch available for MAC as well? [yes yes i know i'm gonna get hate for this but it's an honest question i'm a MAC gamer]

if you know you get hate for it because its awful, why would you still stick to mac since support is so limited and awful. also the devbranch will not be available to mac since it requires a portover which another company does for them and it would be a waste of money to do stuff that might change or might not.

windows is the worst OS but sadly there is also a bunch of good software for it.

ideally nobody would use windows or mac though, and opt for linux.
there is nothing holding anyone back for writing linux software, you don't even have to make it open source, plenty of proprietary software for linux, too.

but linux itself IS open and thus ...it is the most optimal platform cause 'optimization secrets' are right there, no need to kiss up to Ballmer and co.
In fact, Linux is so damn good that wine and proton work as well as they do.

Imagine running software not even made for Linux at equal or more FPS/performance than the OS it's made for...and then calling Linux ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

In a world where people obsess over microstutters and co, they should be demanding games to be ported to Linux 24/7. They should riot all day until it happens, until all the hardware vendors and co start writing drivers for Linux.

Imagine getting clowned on by a "hobbyist OS" that's running software from a completely different OS at good performance (if the software runs in wine/proton, which is not always the case).

You don't have to imagine it. It's reality. It's linux. Anything can run on it. Photoshop. VFX packages. Multimedia editors. Specialist science software.

It's just not done cause people imprinted on windows as if it's magical. It's not.
It's so unmagical that Linux (and Mac even) can run its software via compatibility layers.

And it does it so well that ...well, why not skip that step and demand it to be native.
What branch are you talking about? Which of them has better perfomance? "development - Development Build" or "profiling - Perfomance Profiling Build"
