S&S II bug

I recently started playing S&S II and have a very annoying game-breaking bug: whenever I or opponent has nor armor, any damage you or opponent take will be a killing blow. 255 hp and no armor? 3 dmg from slingshot kills opponent one-shot
Anyone encountered that? Really breaks the experience

You are probably fighting in "Duels", which are "first to draw blood". Meaning, the first person to score a hit on the unarmoured gladiator will win the duel. When you fight in Tournaments, the winner is the gladiator who reduces the enemy's hitpoints to zero.
