Forts can't be repaired
Exactly what the title says. If there is a siege and AI damages a fort, I don't get an option to repair the damage afterwards. Instead, I have to tear down everything and rebuild the walls. I heard it had something to do with the regional builds of the game, but what I'm curious about is if anyone who had the same bug ever figured out a fix for it.

Its an unfinished product full of funny bugs. Beating the game includes beating the bugs :) Damaged forts can be as good for defending as walled. Just wait on the inside. Small forts are the best, never use big forts.

Right, and I appreciate the advice. That is usually what I end up doing, but I was more asking along the line of if anyone actually figured out how to fix this. Like, is there a mod or a line of script that you can change or something.

I've read that forts will repair themselves over time. I know it doesn't answer your question, and I don't know the time required.

I just found out that the repair button is supposed to be an immediate fix button and that buildings are supposed to repair themselves over time. I don't know if its a part of the bug, but I have never experienced that. If a building or fort is damaged in my game, it will stay that way until I repair it with gold (and I can't repair the forts with gold). Good suggestion though! Maybe there is a connection in the code there.

I've left stuff 10 - 20 turns during budget issues, the damage has never repaired itself.

I've never seen walls repair themselves, but as I expand, I kind of ignore it.

It's just astounding how bad sieges are in this game,

What's obvious is at some point CA just have up and gave all the infantry the grappling hooks because they couldn't get the sieges to work.

The moment of realisation when you discover that the way to win fort battles is nothing to do with what would work IRL...

My experience is not as the same as u! With a big european fort i can beat 15000 attackers (2 different fractions) with 12-1500 men. That i can`t do with small fort. I have to fight on the wall several places and cannons is more or less useless1

They don`t, but it happens if u have the capitol of another nation that i can repair itself.
