Red Flag Pirates are historically the most ruthless as they show no quarter to enemies and crew. I can't think of any historical professed red flag female pirates, although I'm willing to accept being incorrect with a citation.
I have no idea about the Shenlong Herbalist.
But prior to throwing down the "stupidity" insult, do realize that this game is quite inclusive with same-gender relationships and even has a race of gender neutral islanders.
Out of the player characters, only the herbalist, animalist, and robot are gender locked.
Of the non-player characters, I can think of the soldier and nurse being locked. The clockwork knight and robots maybe? Oh and the yeti I think.
Can't think of any others.
Grail Knight?
Yeti is definitely genderless type. Forgot about that one.
Lizard Prince is always male. :)
...but I don't know if the game uses the he/him pronouns or not.
