METAL DOGS

METAL DOGS

Spin off of that PS2 game
Can't think of the name of it, but it was a turned based RPG, post apocalyptic, and you could recruit dogs like these....

Metal Saga is the first game in the Metal Max series to reach the US, and this game is indeed a spinoff of Metal Max

Too bad most of the series was not localized, especially the best games (Metal Max 2R and Metal Max 3 for NDS). Looks like the newer ones are getting those English version - like Xeno and Xeno: Reborn + this one.

OK, I'll tell you the truth. but it's just a nerdy old story.

METALMAX was first released on the NES and Super NES, with 1, 2, and R (a remake of 1).
Metal Max 2, released on the GBA, was a port released by another company and was very low quality and unpopular.
R was also supposed to be released on GBA the following month, but it was cancelled.

Then, many years later, METALSAGA was released on PS2. It was also made by another company. The name was changed due to the loss of the copyright, but it was an opportunity for METALMAX to make a comeback.
...I dislike METALSAGA because it is inhabited by mythical dragon. That's as strange as the fact that there is one M1 Abrams in Dragon Quest. The explanation is not given in the game.

The NDS releases of 3, 2Reloaded, and 4 were highly complete, but sales declined with each release.
This led to the creation of "METALMAX XENO", which was a drastic overhaul of the system. After that, it was reborn as "METALMAX XENO REBORN", but it was only a search for a new direction, and the quality was never high.
... I think it's funny.

METAL DOGS is a spin-off of XENO REBORN, and at the same time it's a test environment to improve the quality of XENO's next work, WILD WEAST.
For example, new enemies and dogs will be added to WILD WEAST, which will make it easier to compare equipment.
We hope you enjoy playing XENO REBORN, which will be available on Steam. It will be fun to imagine how much better it will be after this game is finished.

thank you.

Oh yeah, and METAL SAGA.
They're also working on a new game right now, and they're looking to put it on Steam, but I'm not sure if that's going to be released on any other countries.

That's easy...The original designer Hiroshi Miyaoka was close friends with Yuji Horii...the original designer of Dragon Quest, so think of it as an homage.
But really, Storm Dragon is a machine shaped like a dragon, no magic involved...and the Tank was only in Dragon Quest Rocket Slime...and if it is a M1 Abrams it is HEAVILY modified...

Metal Saga on PS2 was one of those 'underground' games like Blood Will Tell or R.A.D. (Blood Will Tell (big in Japan) would get noticed by the West long after the PS2 died.)

I really liked MS but it does get tiresome after about six hours because it is mostly a menu-driven RPG like Breath of Fire.
