Cannot escape the Scarlet Theater - possible glitch?

I ended up dying in the Scarlet Theater while trying to do Rhea's tasks. When I went to try again the scene did not restart the same way. I am in the theater, and Rhea can be seen on the balcony, but the lights don't come on and she doesn't speak. I cannot attempt to complete the tasks and don't see any other way to move forward.

Has anyone else encountered this or have suggestions?
