Stylish, intense, unforgettable.

A story about the highs and lows of the criminal life in an Italian suburb with classy suits and (fancy) old cars. It is a relatively short game, you might clear the story in a day or two. There are also several collectibles that you can find scattered around the city.

Unfortunately, the ending felt rushed. There was a lot of tension built up in the final chapters but then the story suddenly concluded. I wouldn’t say that there are plot holes, it’s just that you wish they could have added a few more cutscenes at the end.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed playing it and I am looking forward to the other two Mafia games in the Trilogy.

Mafia: Definitive Edition is a game I’ve constantly ignored for a while now, but I’m happy I finally played because I see myself replaying this multiple times in the next 5 years. The open world is very detailed, but because it follows a linear storyline (you start mission after mission with no travelling in-between), you don’t really get to appreciate all of it unless you go into the “Free Ride” mode after you complete the story.

You’ll end up with around 15 hours of playtime at the end but there's also a bunch of collectibles to get around the map and in missions that have amazing art, with some based on real-life magazines.

If you’re looking for a game to play for the weekend, this would be the perfect choice, but I’d recommend getting the trilogy bundle, as you’ll get all 3 Mafia games for cheap on sale.
