Cheater disabling iw4mp.exe

Hello,

Earlier today I unfortunately was playing a standard TDM game, when a player joined, and was egregiously hacking. Hundreds of headshots in seconds, and messages being spammed on the screen. Should have taken a screenshot at the time... These weren't wallhacks, as this particular player was simply standing in one spot with his RPD, and shooting directly at the floor, yet everyone else was dying immediately, and the game was unplayable. As soon as you spawned, you were instantly killed again, and every kill was a headshot.

I typed "get the F*** out" in the game chat, and evidently the hacker took that personally, and instead, did something in the background and my game immediately crashed.

When trying to open MW2 MP again, the .exe is now not working at all. I get a message asking if I want to start in safe mode (tried both options), but then I get a black screen, hear about half a second of the menu music, and then it crashes again.

I've re-installed the game completely, deleted the mpconfig file, verified integrity of game files, but I'm at at a loss as to how to even play anymore.

I read the latest post about RCE exploits still being alive and well, but it's quite completely insane that some ♥♥♥ "hacker" has this much control over my computer and my ability to play a GAME WHICH I OWN.

Seriously - what's the solution here? Anyone know a way in which I can play MW2 multiplayer anymore?

Please help.

bro just did the same thing to me I told him no one wants to buy his hacks in a 15 year old game and he flipped out haven't been able to open the game since when i verify files it always says one is corrupted but never fixes it

I think the file that is corrupted is mp_playlists_dlc2.ff

I check and saw that the legit filesize should be 33kb, but mine is 0kb. Reinstalling the game doesn't seem to fix this, oddly.

There has to be a solution, because it's utterly appalling that some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hacker somewhere has the ability to prevent other people from using programs that they own!

Not yet, but it's very concerning that there are now 3 of us today whose games have been ruined by one person using hacks and cheats. Cheating is bad enough, but going so far as to screw up other people's computers and files? Should be a criminal offence.

The hacker in my lobby has a name with space between letters

I also have the same problem, hacker's name was TryHard, am I right?
I can't enter the game, it is always crashing after 0.5 sec...purgato.log shows that there is an error in the dsound.dll file....I also read that this file is used in RCE exploits, which hackers use not just to cheat in the game but also to disable the game.

That's right! I was trying to remember this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥'s name...

While it's good that more people are reporting this issue, I hope someone can get a solution in order, because as far as I'm concerned, I've paid for a game WHICH I CANNOT USE.

He also wrote that he is disabling the game, in my profile’s comments section, he also has screenshots of him using this RCE exploit, he has discord with group name “hacks mw2” or smth like that…

Take as many screenshots as you can, especially of his comments, and report them all to Steam.

I downloaded the game in my other pc and the game is working perfectly so is something on our machines

Hi guys i solved the problem by uninstall mw2 and steam, deleted all the game in my pc then reinstalled steam then mw2

What a ♥♥♥♥♥, you have no skills in the game so you resort to hacking and ruining other peoples pc's. Get their ip addresses go to their parents house which I am sure they are probably over 40 and living with their parents and bend them over and give em a spanking. Not really but you get my point on these types of people.
