There would also be various ending awards for unlocking the various endings.
There was an article in one of the magazines comparing the versions of the first game, so I understood that "Quest for the Crown" was a remake, and I hoped the missing chapters would have the same treatment. It blew my mind to learn of the VGA remakes. I played through three versions of KQ1 just to compare, and to experience an old game in new ways.
