It also doesn't help that visual novels are supposedly very popular in japan, which is why all of the SAO games have that stuff shoehorned in (i.e. why chapter 1 in this ends in 1.5 hours of talking/cutscenes).
SAO was everything I wanted it to be. Kirito remains one of my favorite male protagonists (after Spike), due in no small part to SAO never devolving into the typical borish harem nonsense and their vomit-inducing wishy washy protagonists. Kirito knew what he likes and has stuck with it faithfully the entire franchise.
Cygames shouldve just bought the license and make SAO instead of Grandblue Fantasy.
Grandblue Fantasy:Relink is what SAO should have been right now.
bandai sucks.
uhhhh Sword art online integral factor IS that game
you mean 10 hours
isnt that that mobile POS??
are you watching the same sao that i am? season two has all of that wishy washy garbage. Asuna goes from BAMF to lil ol puddy tat or eh canary in the gilded cage and every thing.
what is 'The World'?
honestly, at this point the closest thing we would get to the real thing IS the real thing. you would need a billionaire who decides that he wants to throw ♥♥♥♥ you into a passion project style game and develop some kind of neural connection into the brain for a full immersive gaming experience and along with this neural connection also develop a game with a world and people and creatures and stories to go with it. eventually you get someone just like Kayaba (i think that was his name?) and probably he would also lord himself over the game as a god creating some sort of to the death challenge because hey hes a billionare and ♥♥♥♥ you right?
i guess you could run the game through the monitor screen too, so a pathway into the brain isnt WHOLLY necessary, but come on its totally inevitable either way so might as well go there too. but you really need some tech savvy billionare who decides to just throw ♥♥♥♥ you money into a pit to make a game of this scale. the greed mongery corpos will only ever give just a sao flavored slice of the anime pie. take this game her for instance. tear it apart and rebuild a game of this size (nearly 100gb) in a smaller graphical quality like hollow realization, or even fragment, and just build the enormity that is aincrad. you could still make it work with ps 2 or three graphics the hook would be scale of game. 100 floors that is practically a game of its own per floor. with massive interlinking bosses going from one floor to the next. you could easily pull something like that off, but eh players would likely complain about graphics. so you cant, because pretty takes up SPACE.
eh sorry about that
It is. No skill trees, abilities hidden behind gatcha (as opposed to leveling, weapon proficiency), clunkly controls, bad ui, and loads upon loads of immersion-breaking gag costumes. The individual floor maps are absurdly small (one or two tiny areas), the gear is bare minimum (though at least it affects your appearance), and there's not a lot to be had in the way of quests.
Integral factor is also, as far as I've heard (quite a while back), has no plans of doing all 100 floors.
